There are so many recreational options in San Martino di Castrozza during the summer for families and children. In this guide, we’ve compiled all the activities we’ve tried over the years just for you!
MARMOT PARK
Take the Alpe Tognola gondola to reach an elevation of 2,200 meters, where the “Alpe delle Marmotte” theme park—which is free and open to everyone—awaits you. Kids can have fun safely on the slides, through the tunnels, and on the climbing walls! All the info HERE.

PLANK OTTER PARK AND NASSE PARK

The “Otters” playground is a lovely place to take your children, with plenty of attractions, the stunning Pale di San Martino as a backdrop, and wide, flat open spaces where the little ones can run around freely. Click HERE for more info!
AGILITY FOREST
WARNING: DO NOT ENTER! Just a stone’s throw from the center of San Martino di Castrozza, there’s an adventure park nestled in the woods, featuring several courses suspended among the trees, categorized by difficulty level. All the info HERE.

MALGA PALA
There are places that stir the soul—spots where time seems to stand still and invite us to rediscover the authentic experiences we seek in the mountains. This mountain hut is easily accessible from the center of San Martino di Castrozza by taking the Colverde gondola. Click HERE for all the information!

MALGA CREL
It can be reached in an hour’s walk from the village of San Martino di Castrozza (the easier option) or, as in our case, starting from Lake Calaita in the Vanoi Valley. Click HERE for information on the complete itinerary!

AT THE ROSETTA MOUNTAIN HUT

You can reach it from San Martino di Castrozza by taking the Colverde gondola and then the cable car that leads to the Pale Plateau; you’ll be able to spot it in the distance, nestled in a lunar landscape. Don’t miss the short hike up to Cima Rosetta. Info and details, HERE!
HIKE TO VELO DELLA MADONNA
The trail leading to the charming Velo della Madonna Mountain Hut, nestled at the foot of Cima della Madonna in the magnificent Pale di San Martino, is challenging but offers breathtaking views. This hike is suitable for families with children who are in good physical condition and used to hiking. Click HERE for our account.
