Whether it’s because snow is hard to come by at lower elevations or because you enjoy reaching high altitudes without breaking a sweat, in Trentino-Alto Adige you can access fantastic toboggan runs via the lifts. These types of runs aren’t always suitable for very young children, but they’re a great fit for slightly older kids and definitely for teenagers. Helmets are required, as is an accompanying adult.
Here are about ten possibilities:
Where to go sledding using the ski lifts in Trentino
MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO
On Monte Spinale, in Madonna di Campiglio, thanks to the cable car ride from the village, you can reach an altitude of over 2,000 meters in just a few minutes. Just grab your sled and off you go! The view is magnificent, and the runs are fun, with slopes, curves, and occasional flat stretches where you can slow down. The run is 2.5 kilometers long (with a 340-meter elevation drop), and you can then return to the starting point via the chairlift. Equipment rentals are available. Bobsleds are not permitted. The trail’s opening depends on the availability of natural snow. Click HERE for all the information.
ALPE LUSIA – VAL DI FIEMME
This trail is located on the slopes of Bellamonte, in Val di Fiemme, along a route stretching over two kilometers, completely surrounded by woods! Take the gondola up to the midway station at an elevation of 1,750 meters, and from there you can descend on the dedicated trail. Sled rentals are available. Sleds with steering wheels or steering handles, bobsleds, and snowbikes are not permitted. The run typically opens in mid-December. HERE is all the info.
PRADEL HIGHLANDS – MOLVENO
In the small ski area of the Pradel Plateau, easily accessible by gondola and chairlift from Molveno, there are two new toboggan runs. The Scoiattolo run, which is 1.5 kilometers long and rated as intermediate, and the Bambi run , which is 2.5 kilometers long . Both end in Andalo. They are usually open starting on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. All the information is available HERE.
MAKE PAGANELLA

Where to go sledding on the slopes in South Tyrol
COSTALUNGA PASS – CAREZZA
In the Carezza Dolomites ski area, straddling the Val d’Ega and Val di Fassa, there is a toboggan run that’s ideal for families. The run is just over one kilometer long with a vertical drop of about 110 meters and presents no particular difficulties. It’s easily accessible via the Hubertus gondola. Metal sleds are available for rent at the starting area. The lift opens on December 6, 2025. All the info HERE.
VAL D’EGA – OBEREGGEN

VAL SARENTINO
The toboggan runstarts at the top station of the Reinswald San Martino ski area’s gondola. The 4.5-kilometer run features fun curves and stunning snow-capped peaks in the background. Another great attraction is the opportunity to take a mini tobogganing course every Saturday. For 18 euros, the price includes the gondola ride up, the lesson with instructor—and former national team athlete—Martin Psenner, and the descent back down to the valley. The facility opens on December 5, 2025. More info HERE.
UPPER PUSTER VALLEY
There are two ski runs at high altitude here in the Sesto Dolomites: Croda Rossa and Baranci. The first is longer (5 kilometers) with a 600-meter elevation drop; the second is shorter (almost 3 kilometers) with a 300-meter elevation drop. Both require a certain level of experience. Equipment rental is available at the base of the gondola. Click HERE for all the information.
BRESSANONE – PLOSE
On the Plose, near Bressanone, you’ll find one of the longest toboggan runs in South Tyrol. The Rudi Run, which is 9 kilometers long with a vertical drop of 1,000 meters, is divided into two sections: Rudi Run 4.0, which is easier and about 4 kilometers long, and Rudi Run 9.0, a natural run that descends from the midway station to the valley, is about 5 kilometers long and technically more challenging. The runs are accessible via the new lifts. The lift will be open starting December 5, 2025. Click HERE for all the information.
VIPITENO – MONTE CAVALLO
The slope on Monte Cavallo is a full 10 kilometers long and is the longest illuminated and snow-covered slope in all of Italy. It’s suitable for all ages, but you can’t go down the slope in a bobsled: you must use a sled (if you don’t have one, you can easily rent one). Every Friday evening, the slope is lit until midnight, and the chairlift operates until 10:00 p.m. The facility is open starting December 5, 2025. Click HERE for all the details.
