Comano and its surroundings offer a wealth of options for those looking to spend a peaceful day with the family. If you’re not very familiar with this area, we recommend reading this mini-guide carefully, getting some ideas, and setting out as soon as possible. You’ll find relaxing landscapes, lush green parks, farmsteads offering delicious local products, hiking trails of varying difficulty, and interesting museums.
The Comano area is easily accessible by car, just 35 minutes from Trento. It’s strategically located for exploring other nearby areas, such as Molveno, Madonna di Campiglio, and the Fiavè and Tenno regions. It offers beautiful views of the wide valleys and the opportunity to enjoy both lovely walks and a variety of activities. We’ve compiled a list of the best ones here:
MASO LIMARO’ BY BIKE
An easy bike path that runs from just above Sarche to Ponte Arche, crossing the Limarò Stream gorge. Along the route—which is paved and easy to navigate even on foot or with a stroller—you’ll find Maso Limarò: stop here for a culinary experience featuring truly special focaccia and pizza. Find all the details at Maso Limarò by Bike.
LIMARO CANYON
A picturesque walk that winds through the gorge carved out by the Limarò stream, among rocks smoothed by the water and suspension bridges. It takes about an hour to complete and is not suitable for strollers. A must-see at least once! Find out how to get there by reading “The Limarò Canyon.”

COMANO SPA PARK
One of our favorite places—a must-visit every time we’re in the area. A spacious park that stretches along the river, surrounded by tranquility and a healthy atmosphere. Inside the park, in addition to beautiful flowers, plants, and areas where you can run or relax, you’ll find two lovely playgrounds with wooden play equipment, the Sibyl’s Castle, and various climbing structures.
Don’t miss the Kneipp and barefoot trails, the stream where you can dip your feet, and the picturesque little lake. To relax with a refreshing drink , there’s a bar with outdoor seating and restrooms. And if you have allergies or are looking for a pampering and relaxing experience, the Terme di Comano spa is renowned for its treatments and therapies. We’ve written about it HERE.
THE WOOL SUPPLY CHAIN
Also in Comano, the La Filiera della Lana farm is a truly special place. Thanks to Sandro, the owner, you can get up close with the sheep and watch the shearing. You’ll also learn lots of interesting facts about wool (which isn’t all the same!), how it’s processed, and more: kids can make their own woolen item to take home. It’s an interesting and fun way to spend a couple of hours with the family. Find more information in our article “La Filiera della Lana in Comano.”

Reopened after a long period of closure, the Don Zio mountain hut has once again become the starting point for one of the most scenic hikes in the area. It is located at just over 1,600 meters above sea level and can be reached via a toll road. From the parking lot, it takes just a few minutes to reach the mountain hut (even with a stroller), and from there, you can hike to the summit of Monte Casale, where you’ll enjoyan incredible view of as many as 5 (or, if you’re very lucky, even 7) lakes.
