The Val di Fiemme is one of the most beautiful valleys in Trentino to explore with children. Here’s a guide to the must-see places and summer activities:
Val di Fiemme Bike Path
A beautiful 50-kilometer-long bike path starts in Molina di Fiemme and extends all the way to Canazei in Val di Fassa. The paved path is also perfect for those who want to cover parts of it on foot or with a stroller. The section between Molina and Predazzo (about 20 kilometers) is mostly flat, making it perfect for children. Along the route, you’ll find many playgrounds and rest areas. All the information about the Val di Fiemme bike path.
Adventure Dolomiti Park – Molina
The Molina Adventure Park offers fun for all ages: it features 9 suspended courses of varying difficulty, with a total of 122 obstacles spanning over 1,500 meters of fun and adrenaline. Find all the details about the Adventure Dolomiti Park.
Cavalese Waterfall
After Molina di Fiemme, follow the signs leading to the waterfall; you can already see it from the parking lot. We continued along the trail through the woods, which allowed us to admire it from a panoramic overlook halfway along the route and from the top, thanks to a bridge that crosses over it. The walk takes about half an hour, is fairly easy, and is suitable for everyone.
With lama and alpaca at the El Molin B&B
For animal lovers, a walk around Cavalese in the company of the friendly llamas and alpacas at El Molin is a must. You’ll learn lots of interesting things about their habits and personalities. At the farm, you can also meet other little animals, like the cute little bunnies. We’ve been there ourselves: read El Molin: In Cavalese, Just Like in Peru!
Alpe Cermis – Cavalese
As you ride up on the cable car, you can explore the new Villaggio dei Racconti adventure park, take part in the weekly activities at Cermislandia, or take another chairlift to the Bombasel Lakes (photo below). For older kids, don’t miss the CermiSkyline, an easy via ferrata with stunning views of the Lagorai’s most beautiful alpine lakes. Here’s what to do on Alpe Cermis in the summer.
Rafting on the Avisio River – Cavalese
An adventure for the whole family, ages eight and up: the tour we tried isthe Avisio River Classic, which is also suitable for those with no experience who want to experience the thrill of rafting. You’ll travel by raft along a stretch of the Avisio River about 6.5 kilometers long, focusing on steering the raft while surrounded by nature. It’s an unforgettable experience that you’ll want to repeat as soon as possible. Find all the details at Val Di Fiemme Outdoor Rafting.
Avisio Rafting – Tesero
The classic descent along the Avisio River is ideal for adults and children alike. The route starts near the Cermis valley station and ends at Lake Stramentizzo, winding through fun rapids and stunning scenery. The trip also includes a stop at the Cavalese waterfall, a 100-meter walk away , where you can take a shower and take a dip under the waterfall’s spray. More information: Avisio Rafting—thrills on a raft!
Cavalese Swimming Pool
The aquatic center, featuring a fun slide, a whirlpool area, and a pool for little ones. All the details about Acqua & SPA: the Cavalese pool.
Alpe di Pampeago – Tesero
There are plenty of things to do up there! Starting with Respirart, Europe’s highest art park ( photo below), or a hike to the Torre di Pisa Mountain Hut to take in the view from above. There’s also one of the few high-altitude hikes here that’s accessible with standard strollers, since most of it is paved: Latemar.Alp, the trail that leads from the top station of the new Latemar gondola to Malga Mayrl and the Epircher Laner Alm, set in a picture-perfect landscape.

Suan Park – Ziano
Another adventure park that winds through pine, larch, and fir trees, just a short distance from the village of Ziano. It features several trails suitable for the whole family. For more information: Suan Park in Ziano di Fiemme.
Malga Sadole – Ziano
Not far from Ziano, Malga Sadole will reopen in 2026 to offer traditional local cuisine. The mountain hut is an excellent base for exploring the unspoiled Lagorai mountain range, all the way to Passo Sadole, choosing a route based on your own abilities and fitness level. All the info at Malga Sadole.
Baita Monte Cauriol Mountain Hut – Ziano
A recently renovated mountain hut, easily accessible from Ziano di Fiemme via a one-hour walk along the Strada Vecia di Sadole or in about 20 minutes from the nearest parking lot. It offers 4 rooms with shared bathrooms, delicious and hearty traditional cuisine, and a truly fantastic playground that kids will love. Easy hikes suitable for all ages start right here. Find all the details at Rifugio Monte Cauriol.
Malga Sass – Valfloriana
A small mountain hut hidden among the flowers and pristine forests of Valfloriana, between Val di Fiemme and Val di Cembra. From here, you can take a short walk to Prai de la Fior, which will lead you to a viewpoint overlooking the entire Val di Fiemme. The cuisine features locally sourced ingredients, and the cheeses are produced on-site. There are plenty of animals to see, as well as an educational area where you can get to know them even better! Find all the details about Malga Sass.
Maso Corradini – Castello di Fiemme
A place that will leave you wanting to come back! That’s how we’d describe Maso Corradini, the raspberry farm. That’s right—they grow berries here, especially the sweetest raspberries. You can tour the farm either with a guide or on a self-guided tour, which is great for kids. Just a few dozen meters away, you can visit the farm’s 5-star barn for the cows and purchase excellent products—including cosmetics—in the shop. Restaurant and lodging available. Info: Maso Corradini: Among Raspberries and Animals
Lake delle Buse – Manghen Pass
A wonderful hike through the Lagorai landscape leads from the pass to the basin of Lago delle Buse, passing by ancient trees struck by lightning, colorful patches of rhododendrons, and a fun trail even for kids, who’ll get to practice jumping from one rock to another!
Lavazé Pass
A few minutes’ drive up from Pampeago brings you to the Lavazé Pass. Here, at an elevation of 1,800 meters, you can park your car and walk around the small lake before choosing one of the many trails—perhaps to reach the mountain huts near the Oclini Pass. The area’s geology is fascinating. It’s also perfect for strolls with a stroller, given the virtually flat terrain. Find all the information here: Lavazé Pass in Summer with Kids
Predazzo
There are plenty of family-friendly walks, activities, and hikes here, too: a natural lake, a suspension bridge, a waterfall, and much more… We’ve listed them all in our guide Things to Do in Predazzo in the Summer.
Summer Activities with APT Fiemme Cembra
Every summer, APT Fiemme Cembra offers a packed calendar of activities suitable for families and children: these range from walks to workshops to encounters with farm animals… In short, there are plenty of wonderful experiences, led by expert and knowledgeable staff, that will spark children’s passion for the mountains and let them spend a few hours together with other kids and families. You can find them in our calendar and book directly on the website HERE.
An example? We just got back from a nice ride and had the experience “But Where Did Everyone Go? Nature Detectives,”, offered every Friday morning this summer through September. Each child receives a nature detective kit: a magnifying glass, a notebook and pencil, a bag for collecting evidence, a measuring tape, and a special lens that also doubles as a microscope. They also make little flags to mark the clues they find. Everyone is free to explore and collect clues: feathers, fur, footprints, droppings (not cow droppings—too easy!), gnawed pinecones, small eggshells, and much more. Like real detectives, you follow the clues to discover who’s hiding in the woods. At the end, all the findings are analyzed together, accompanied by stories and interesting explanations about animals, insects, and nature. An engaging, educational, and fun experience for young and old alike. Highly recommended!
